The Good and The Bad of Thanksgiving

The Good: Snow Day for the girls on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Bad: A blizzard dumps tons of snow on us right before Thanksgiving travel.

The Good: Enjoying all 3 kids at home during the day.
The Bad: Having all 3 kids whine, cry, argue and fight.

The Good: Leaving at the exact time we wanted to (usually doesn't happen).
The Bad: Getting stuck in our driveway on the way out.

The Good: Having a husband willing walk back to the house, grab a shovel and start digging us out while it is snowing and very windy.
The Bad: No gloves for him.

The Good: Looking forward to having another "man" in the family to help out in these sort of situations.
The Bad: He's only 2.

The Good: It only took us an hour and a half longer to drive to our destination.
The Bad: Driving 40 mph on the freeway.

The Good: Being surrounded by family.
The Bad: The chaos that sometimes is involved.

The Good: Seeing nephews and nieces that I haven't seen for a bit.
The Bad: They are growing up too quickly.

The Good: Remembering to bring my camera.
The Bad: Not taking any pictures.

The Good: Playing board games, Rock Band, watching movies and basically never having a dull moment.
The Bad: Not being able to participate in EVERYTHING (explanation to come).

The Good: Having a Mother-in-Law that knows how to put on an amazing Thanksgiving dinner.
The Bad: Not being able to eat any of it because I caught the flu, hence the not being able to participate in everything comment.

The Good: Having London come upstairs and wanting to sleep in our bedroom with us.
The Bad: Escorting her to the bathroom so she could throw up every 5 minutes!

The Good: Being sick at the same time as London, we hung out in bed ALL day snuggling.
The Bad: Feeling sick.

The Good: Having so many BLESSINGS!
The Bad: My list of things that I'm grateful for was HUGE!

The Good: Watching some great football games.
The Bad: Having both teams we were routing for barely lose.

The Good: Not seeing Kamryn much because she plays constantly with her cousin Emily.
The Bad: Not seeing Kamryn much.

The Good: Celebrating Spencer's Birthday.
The Bad: Not getting to sing the birthday song. He's such an attention hog and doesn't like it when people sing him Happy Birthday.

The Good: Shopping on Black Friday after the chaos was over and finding everything that we needed/wanted.
The Bad: Buying a few extra things that weren't really necessary.

The Good: Having my parents live not so far away from Jeff's family and being able to sneak away for an afternoon to see them.
The Bad: It was too short of a visit.

The Good: Craft day with the girls.
The Bad: Wish I could have made more!

The Good: The roads were great for traveling home.
The Bad: Our driveway wasn't cleared and we got stuck AGAIN and this time it took us longer to get out than the whole drive home. It was awful!

The Good: Having neighbors who plow our driveway.
The Bad: Not having a tractor or 4-wheeler to do it our self.

Happy 2nd Birthday!

Sullivan woke up cranky (molars?) and was crying until he saw his new Lightning McQueen Power Wheels. It was instant love! And, my walls may have more dings in them and he was clotheslined at least twice, but it was all worth it because that smile on his face hasn't left yet! (Please ignored the mismatched PJ's, he's grown out of his winter PJ's and I'm waiting for a good Black Friday deal for some more.)

We let Sullivan open his other presents before the girls left for school and Jeff left for work.

Playing with the puzzle.

Jeff made him waffles for breakfast.

Went to Pizza Hut for dinner.

Still lovin his car.

I am not as good at decorating cakes as I'd like, it is a talent that I desire, yet practice will only make me better! Here is his #2 cake with a race track on it. He loved it, that's all that matters.

His eyes were on his Dad during the whole "Happy Birthday" song, probably because he sings loud.

He actually blew out the candle all by himself, it was so cute.

Not nearly as messy as he was last year.

Don't go near my cake!

Love my kids!

After cake, we watched Toy Story. Sullivan sat on his car for the entire movie.

Age 2

I had my favorite photographer come by and take some pictures of my two year old. Thank you Emily!

I'm not sure why the pictures are so small, as soon as I get the disk of all the pictures I will fix it.

-Weighs 31 lbs.
-Growing out of his size 7 shoes.
-Wears a size 4 diaper, but probably should be in size 5's.
-Kind of started potty training, but I'm not pushing it. He has been telling us when he needs to go and that is the only reason why I started. Though, we haven't had any success yet.
-Enthralled by anything sports related.
-When he wears shirts that have any kind of a ball on it, he points at it, tells me what it is and continues this as the day goes on...constantly.
-Likes to color/scribble. Can draw a circle when I ask him to.
-Points to every body part.
-When he answers his toy cell phone he says "lell-o" And, needless to say but I will anyway, his favorite color is "lell-o" or so he says.
-Will not say the word "car" or "truck" he will only say "Vrooom."
-Once in the Walmart parking lot Sullivan was saying "vroom" and pointing to all the big trucks. Then he pointed to a little tiny car and said "Daddy." Jeff's a little sensitive now about the car he drives.
-LOVES, loves, loves his sisters! He can say "NunNun" for London, but he isn't even close to saying Kamryn's name yet.
-The day that Jeff and I talked about moving him into a toddler bed, he decided to become difficult when we try to put him to bed...so, we are holding off for a bit. Both of my girls were in toddler beds by the time they were 2. I feel like a slacker, but if I've learned anything from parenting it is that no two kids are alike!

-Once got a hold of Jeff's cell phone and typed the word "Poop." No joke! I was especially impressed that he even capitalized the first letter.
-I don't remember exactly how it happened, but Kamryn ended up getting after Sullivan for messing with her stuff. She did apologize, but she wouldn't hug him because she was still frustrated. Sullivan cried and cried, wouldn't settle down. I eventually put the girls down for bed and tried distracting Sullivan so he'd quit crying. Jeff came home from meetings and tried his luck, usually Dad can fix anything. Finally, I asked Sullivan if he wanted to go give Kamryn a hug and he said "yeah." We woke Kammi up and she was in a much better mood, gave her little brother some loving and then he was perfectly fine. He's a pretty tough boy when it comes to getting hurt physically, but when it involves his heart in anyway, he's an emotional and sensitive kid!
-He's my cleanest kid! He pitches in when needed and goes the extra mile often.
-His favorite foods are yogurt, bananas and string cheese. Love it when he says "Cheese Pease."
-He'd rather have snacks throughout the day than 3 meals a day.

-He's 2 yrs old and weighs more than 30lbs which I was told are the requirements for his surgery of the cyst on his neck, why they chose to wait to tell me this I have no idea! Jeff and I have decided that we will tackle his surgery sometime before summer next year. We didn't want him to have to go through this over the holidays.
-This was actually told to me by my sis-in-law, that he's the best dancer she's ever seen in a 2 year old. What can I say, he definitely didn't get this from me.;)
-Along the same lines as the above comment, he loves music. It soothes him in the car, it makes him happy when he's bored and it makes him bust out in the cutest dance moves when we have our dance parties.
-His voice fluctuates a lot...his "Yeah" and "Kitty" are adorable.
-Absolutely hates when I take him shopping (unless Dad is there) and cries most of the time.

I don't know if it is because Sullivan is turning 2 yrs old tomorrow or what, but I'm extremely baby hungry for another one. This picture doesn't help the cause either!

Num Nums

I recently gave my girls some Zhu Zhu Pets activity pads. As they were coloring, Kam states to me that "Sullivan has Num Nums".

Can you imagine my reaction...

My eyebrows were raised, minutes passed as I silently questioned whether I should probe her more about Sullivan's num nums.

Then, my eyebrows scrunch up as I think about what my kid learns these days at school and if she is learning "slang" then I need to at least teach her the correct wording.

Me: He has Num Nums?

K: Yep

Me: Where are his Num Nums?

K: I don't know, I haven't seen it in awhile.

Me: What!?

K: Yeah, London got Jilly for Christmas, I have Chunks and Sullivan has Num Nums.

I guess all of the Zhu Zhu pets have names and Sullivan indeed has Num Nums...my bad. But seriously, what a relief!!

Trouble

If it is too quiet in the house, I know something is up...

Seriously, these kids are so naughty sometimes!!! And, they bring my innocent little Man along for the ride. At least they had some fun!

I remember my Mom eating paper when I was little. I must have inherited this weird gene because I too like to eat/lick weird things.

So, when I saw this picture I knew that London definitely got that part of my gene pool too...

Halloween

Normally we go visit my family over Halloween, they usually go all out!! But, this year we stuck close to home. I wasn't as excited for this Halloween for some reason, probably because it was on a Sunday and I knew it would lack the normal Halloween activities. Still, we had a great time as a FAMILY and enjoyed one another's company.

Here are the kids all dressed up! Kamryn's a witch, London a Cheetah and S Man is Spiderman.

Halloween would have really sucked if it wasn't for our ward Halloween party. It was raining and cold, so I was extremely grateful to have it indoors and not do the whole "trunk-or-treat" thing. So, they put together a Halloween Carnival with little activities that the kids could play and earn prizes. I didn't see Kamryn until we left, she found her friends and was off before I knew it. London and Sullivan stuck close to us and we enjoyed helping them out. The kids all came home in a sugar induced coma!

My sister-in-law mentioned these blood worms (jell-o), and I had to try and make them for my family on Halloween. Everyone thought they were cool but kinda gross looking and though they tasted them, no one finished eating them. I guess they were just too gross to stomach. We also had a whole week of Halloween themed dinners.

Something's missing...

Finally, the tooth fairy was able to visit London for the first time this weekend!
