When your kids get super cranky because they are going stir crazy from being inside all afternoon because it is too hot to go outside and explore, a Mom will do(almost)anything to relieve some of this crankiness. It just happened to be on the day that Percy Jackson was coming out on Blu Ray. We planned a blue dinner party and the girls made lightning bolts and hung them up around the house. We ate blue colored baked potato soup with blue rolls, blue jello with a whipped cream lightning bolt on top and drank blue Gatorade. We literally had blue tongues! Then we watched the movie together. It was a fun afternoon and kept the kids entertained for a bit. Oh, and we all wore blue clothing, except Dad because he was at work and didn't know.

T-ball/Coach Pitch

I'm so far behind on my blog, ugh. This was London's first t-ball season ever and she did AWESOME!!! She happened to have a really great coach (the high school girls softball coach) and he really knew how to teach these young kids how to play ball. I was slightly worried (after a bad experience with soccer) that London wouldn't like sports and not want to participate, but she proved me wrong and really loved it. I'm thinking we *might* need to try soccer again sometime. Her team this year also won the sportsmanship award which is pretty cool, again I think her coach had a lot to do with that in how he made the kids have so much fun, not like a competition at all.

This was Kamryn's first year at coach pitch. She played t-ball previously, but is now old enough to be bumped up. As soon as the season started, Jeff was outside with the girls on a daily basis practicing. Kamryn got to be really good at bat thanks to those extra practices. She tends to scoot away from the ball when it is thrown to her, but I'm sure more practice will help her gain the confidence she needs. I don't have any pictures of her because they were taken on the disposable camera...Boo!

We've had a fun time designing and dreaming about our yard. This year we were able to hydro seed, put some curbing around our house and an island, get a decent sized garden (in pic by chicken coop) and get Jeff a zero turn riding lawn mower (thank you tax return!). Jeff has been working so hard at keeping things nice. He wakes up at 6 am every morning and goes to work in the yard for over an hour. Hopefully next summer we will get to enjoy our yard more instead of working in it so much.

We had a mini 4th of July for family night and set some fireworks off.

Cat, I'm a kitty cat

A little bit ago, Jeff saw a mouse trying to get into our garage. NO WAY, I'm not allowing any mice in my house (though, I'm sure it will happen at some point). My proposed idea to combat this potential issue was to adopt some kitties.

London named her kitty Whiskers.

Kamryn named her kitty Greyson.


I might receive some hate mail for posting this pic, but I can't help it, it is sooo cute. After I took this shot, I promptly saved its life and then I broke out in hives all over my arms. Sullivan LOVES the kitties and picks them up all the time now (properly, now that he's been taught the correct way).

I'm very tempted to put an "animals x-ing" sign on our drive way. In addition to our 2 new kitties and 4 hens, I've got to protect the 20 plus baby quails, 2 squirrels, 1 snake, 2 neighbor dogs, 1 coyote or fox and 3 rock chucks. Yikes, why did I agree to this country estate life.

I don't think I have an ounce of skill in photoshop, but I had fun playing around with these terrible disposable camera photos.

Disposable Cameras = BOO

I kept taking a picture a day for my project 365 goal while my Cannon was broken. I bought several disposable cameras in hopes that I'd develop them and then post them at a later time. Well, I turned in about 6 full disposable cameras to be developed and I'd bet only 5 pictures from each camera turned out semi decent. I'm really sad...I love my photos and hate knowing that so many important memories were lost.

Here was one "photo of the day." Jeff and Sullivan watching the opening day for baseball. This isn't unusual for them to be watching sports together, the part that I will remember about this day was that Obama threw the first pitch during the Nationals game and the crowd wouldn't stop booing until he was gone. My heart went out to him. I also may not agree with some of the things he's done, but no one ever deserves to be booed like he was. Disrespectful Americans!
